  • It is necessary to share information in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person or as otherwise required by law.
  • We transfer information about you if LiquidFiles is acquired by or merged with another company. In this event, LiquidFiles will notify you before information about you is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

INFORMATION GATHERING AND USAGE

When you register for the support.liquidfiles.com and license.liquidfiles.com websites we ask for information such as your name, company name, email address and billing address. You only need to specify your email address and your country. Your email is used as the account login and the Australian Government requires that we charge Sales Tax (GST) to Australian customers.

LiquidFiles uses collected information for the following general purposes: products and services provision, billing, identification and authentication, services improvement, contact, and research.

COOKIES

A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier, that is sent to your browser from a web site's computers and stored on your computer's hard drive. Cookies are required to use LiquidFiles, the support.liquidfiles.com and license.liquidfiles.com websites. We use cookies to record current session information.

DATA STORAGE

LiquidFiles uses third party vendors and hosting partners to provide the necessary hardware, software, networking, storage, and related technology required to run our own servers.

For example, we are using Amazon AWS to run the LiquidFiles license server that keeps track of licenses purchased and when they expire. We also run GeoIP lookup servers in AWS. The LiquidFiles public website is stored and delivered through AWS. All LiquidFiles source code are stored in GitHub and GitHub is used to deliver the LiquidFiles documentation site. We use Zendesk that runs LiquidFiles support. We also have test systems and required systems in both AWS and Microsoft Azure to facilitate releasing Azure and AWS images of the LiquidFiles product. The LiquidFiles mailing list is hosted my Mailchimp and our email relay service is SMTP2Go for delivering things like license renewal notifications.

Please note that this has nothing to do with the LiquidFiles product. When you run your own LiquidFiles system, it is completely self contained on your system. All the data stored, the users configured, messages sent and so on, are completely private to you and not shared with anyone, including us.

DISCLOSURE

LiquidFiles may disclose personally identifiable information under special circumstances, such as to comply with subpoenas.

CHANGES

LiquidFiles may periodically update this policy. We will notify you about significant changes in the way we treat personal information by sending a notice to the primary email address specified in your LiquidFiles update site or by placing a prominent notice on our site.
